To all of our supporters,

The Seneca Ridge Odyssey of the Mind Balsa team would like to thank you for your support. With your generosity our team was able to attend the World competition in Ames, Iowa. We only had a few weeks to raise over $10,000. There were times we did not know if it was going to be possible but  because of your donation, whatever amount it was, we collected enough to pay our expenses to Iowa and for our room and board.

The best part of it all is that the World Finals was something that none of us will ever forget. It was even bigger than our expectations. There were students from around the world who we were able to meet and share in the experience of an International competition. The atmosphere was quite like the Olympics, with an opening ceremony that filled a large University arena. Throughout the four days of competition, our team had experiences that will be unforgettable.

Our team performed well for the first time attending Worlds.  We met so many teams that have been there multiple years. We placed 30th in the world and that is something we are very proud of.  We feel fortunate to have been able to represent the state of Virginia, Loudoun County and our school, Seneca Ridge.
